Atrax Morgue – No More

The day before Halloween can only mean one thing—it’s time for Atrax Morgue. This year we discuss “No More.” The final proper Atrax Morgue album hit us in an unhinged way. In addition, Tara talks about the surrealist Pierre Molinier as one of the tracks on the album is dedicated to him. Welcome to the broken sound… enter the club of the dead.

For the ExtraNoisextra segment on the patreon, we discuss 3 Italian horror movies — “Blood Delirium,” “Body Puzzle,” and “Murder Obsession.” This half hour segment immediately follows the regular episode on the patreon feed.

Atrax Morgue – Death-Orgasm Connector

he annual Atrax Morgue episode has arrived. This year, we place a bag over our heads with “Death-Orgasm Connector.” A CD from 2003, this album distills the greatness of Atrax Morgue into 10 of his most potent tracks. It’s never a bad time to listen to Atrax Morgue, but the end of October is truly the perfect atmosphere for “Death-Orgasm Connector. The game is closed. Marco Corbelli forever.

For the ExtraNoisextra segment on the patreon we each chose an Italian horror movie to dissect, as is our Atrax episode tradition. This segment is over 30 minutes.

Mortar – self-titled

It’s the dead of winter and a Slaughter Productions tape felt appropriate for seasonal hibernation. Mortar’s self titled cassette fit the bill perfectly. Mortar is a necro project of Moreno Daldosso of Murder Corporation. Ancient times, old stones, sand, dirt, and storms are all present on this excellent 90s Italian cassette. Let this be the soundtrack to your crypt.

Atrax Morgue feat. Morder Machine – DeathShow

Our yearly Marco Corbelli episode has arrived and this time we went for something a little different — Morder Machine “DeathShow.” A project that existed directly alongside Atrax Morgue, Morder Machine utilized a bit more structure and rhythm without losing any darkness and obsession. We pull quotes directly about Morder Machine and relay Marco’s thoughts on the project. Additionally, we continue our tradition of choosing three Italian horror movies to highlight before discussing the album. Welcome to DeathShow.

In Conversation with John Balistreri (Slogun)

completely fascinating conversation going through his entire history, from growing up in Bensonhurst to taking his brand of PE all over the world. Serial killers, self disgust, graffiti, and so much more are touched on in this comprehensive episode. It was a true honor for us have a deep discussion with one of our absolute favorite artists.

Atrax Morgue – Black Slaughter

Our annual Atrax Morgue episode has arrived, and this time we take a look at “Black Slaughter.” A different type of release than covered on our previous Atrax episodes, here Marco Corbelli utilizes samples instead of vocals to convey the thoughts of a psychopathic mind. Included in “Black Slaughter” is an insert with notes on each track by Marco himself, and we read his words throughout. We are ready. Marco Corbelli forever.

Slaughter Productions

We will never get enough of Slaughter Productions, so we decided to take a look at 3 individual cassettes released by the label: Stratvm Terror “The Only True Septic Whore,” Slogun “A Breed Apart,” and Contagious Orgasm “Defective Merchandise.” All 3 tapes represent different countries and styles that highlight the curation of Slaughter. We add a cassette compilation – “Slaughter Age 95” – on the Extra Noisextra for our patrons, showcasing Marco’s knack for putting together outstanding comps.

In Conversation with Chad Davis of Subklinik

October has crept in, and we begin the month by speaking with Subklinik, aka Chad Davis. Subklinik has been wandering the landscapes of death industrial for over two decades and let us in to his world and process. We get into his early days, working with Marco Corbelli, his relationship with death, and much more in this captivating discussion.

Various Artists – Death Odors (with guest Stephen Petrus)

Stephen Petrus (Murderous Vision/Live Bait Recording Foundation) joins us to discuss the classic “Death Odors” compilation on Slaughter Productions. Petrus talks about the importance of compilations to his journey, in terms of both listening and releasing. This episode is coming out in tandem with a brand new comp that Stephen has curated entitled “Dies Natalis Invicti Solis” featuring Brighter Death Now, Deutsch Nepal, Contrastate and many more. The CD will be available for pre order on Friday December 4th.

Atrax Morgue – Woundfucker

We embark on a yearly Halloween tradition as we go deep on Atrax Morgue “Woundfucker,” recorded on Halloween of 1994. An album that has been with all of us for as long as we can remember, “Woundfucker” never fails to affect all of our souls. We relay some of Marco Corbelli’s thoughts via old interviews and dissect what we revere about Atrax Morgue.
